Location footprint - t_bard - 08-01-2012

Hello,

I am so new at this. I am trying to harvest sites that are located in New York or are principally about New York, but am not sure how to make that happen.

I have tried "location: New York" and "NEAR: New York", but still get sites from far away places that do not seem to have anything New York about them.

Thanks for any ideas!

I would also be interested in this, but my instinct tells me all you really need is the place name.

Perhaps you could be more specific by listing the boroughs of New York and not using 'New York' at all.

I would just do like

"New York" keyword

I mean it may not give you pages that are about new york, but they would at least contain the word. Plus google is smart enough to figure this out, if you search new york cars its going to give you cars in new york not in cali. etc...

I know the OP was posted in 2012 so they probably aren't even around any more, but if you have a specific example(s) you can post that would be easier to give more accurate advice about.
