Nice one!
I found it useful to exclude keywords like "scrapebox" or "footprints" from the query, because if you search for one of the mentioned footprints, you'll get a lot of Forum Threads and Blogposts ABOUT Footprints, although what you want is pages that actually contain the footprints in there original form.
For Example if I Google
"Generated by Webalizer Version 2.03″
the first result is a discussion informing me about footprints for refspam (http://xrchat.info/forums/hrefer-mods/footprint-stat-pages-like-awstats-refspam-4/)
obviously there's no use in pinging this site
So instead is search for
‘Generated by Webalizer Version 2.03″ -footprints -footprint -scrapebox
to filter out a lot of useless results
Just a little trick...

Im confused, perhaps someone can clarify. I have watched tutorials about pinging and I have seen people say to use major search engines as the referer. is this incorrect?
