Appropriate Search Operator - MarkStrobel3367 - 05-17-2012
I conduct onsite conferences for school educators. I just purchased Scrapebox and I would like to use it to extract local school urls. Does anyone know which search operator I should use to only find urls of schools in specific geographical locations? Thanks.

Thank you so much for your response. The problem with using site: is that I would need to know the school district url in advance. Is there a search operator/footprint that you are aware of that would allow me to scrape or extract urls of various schools and/or districts per city? Thanks.

hmm i need to see your school website to answer you... If they have subdomains for each school on main site use site:*.myschool.com example: (school1.myschool.com, school2.myschool.com) - you will scrape results for subdomains only. If the site structure something like this: myschool.com/school1/ ... myschool.com/school2/ - use site:myschool.com inurl
chool1 (for scraping only school1 pages on whole site).Experiment with this.

The domain structure of school district sites are often different. Actually, it isn't important for me for me to initially scrape for all the subdomains (schools) within a district site. After I initially scrape for district sites in a given geographical area, I plan to scrape those sites with site: to obtain the subdomains. I am just searching for an adequate search operator/footprint to adequately obtain school district urls in a given area.
Experiment with this.
