Slow pagerank checker - remetiffy - 10-27-2010
Hi
How long should a pageranck check take? I have 416 url's harvested and 10 private proxies. The check is on 30% and has taken 117 minutes so far. This seems to me to be excessive. How long is it taking for other users.

Weird that amount I don't even use proxies for....anything above 1 k i only usually use proxies in regards to PageRank checking.
Answer to your question it would take me about 4-5 seconds without proxies, and less then 1 minute most definitely WITH proxies. Try disabling your proxies....test with that....if not go to -->Settings--->Adjustst Maximum Connections--->PageRank .....u can try to up those threads....hope that helped

I played around with what you suggested and there was no effect. I then noticed I had the timing set to RND. I switched it off and the pagerank flew threw in 4 secs. Thanks again.

Hya, i use quirk SearchStatus firefox plugin to check PR, just Open any link and it will show you the PR of opened page..

Adjust both your # of connections and your timeout. I have my timeout set to 30 seconds. Same goes with Proxy checking. Link checking you might want a longer timeout.
As for connections - if you have a broadband like cable modem type thing or standard home DSL then I think 30 connections is safe. People doing 300 connections are using VPS Servers and such. If you make those changes it'll check 400 pages for PR in minutes.
