Virus from running rapid indexer tool - dada5000 - 05-05-2019
When I input the list of websites provided by Scrapebox (from the description) and put my website into Scrapebox to run the indexing, my Avast antivirus scan pops up every now and then to say that I am visiting a website which has virus.
Is this normal?
Think it is because some websites on the list contain malware?

You can whitelist scrapebox in Avast to avoid this nuisance.
Scrapebox uses raw sockets and threads, these do not support javascript. So most virus/malware comes in via javascript and scrapebox literally can't execute the javascript.
In nearly 10 years Ive never heard of 1 person getting a virus/malware or anything like it from running scrapebox (except for perhaps manual poster, since it uses a browser rendering engine, but its pretty much end of life anyway as far as its usefulness) and thats saying something because scrapebox has been installed on over a million machines.
So does the website visited have a virus, maybe, but scrapebox isn't likely to allow it to infect your machine.
But hey, I mean if you want to let Avast run you can, but just bear in mind Avast is known to cause actual real issues with some part of scrapebox. Avast isn't smart enough to read some components of scrapebox so it just flat blocks them. Just letting you know.

Thanks alot for the clarification Loopline! Also, may I know why you said that manual poster is pretty much end of life anyway? If so, what upcoming tool would Scrapebox have to replace this?
One more thing, when I whitelist in Avast, do I whitelist the entire Scrapebox directory or just Scrapebox.exe?

Loopline. I think scrapebox isn't the issue. Rather it is the sites that scrapebox is accessing to index that is triggering the malware alert.
