Social Checker Not Working - Error'ing Out - jrothe - 12-10-2013
The Social Checker Addon will scrape the data for Facebook, but the status shows error, and does not pull data for any other platform.
Is the Addon broken? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Make sure you updated to the latest version, as there was an update for this some weeks back. However some anti virus/firewalls/malware checkers was also blocking the data because the urls used to retrieve the data are also popular targets for spammers. So make sure you set the addon and scrapebox as allowed in all your security software.

This was one of the first things I checked before posting, the software and add-on should be up to date. Running v1.16.1 of Scrapebox, and ScrapeBox Social Checker v1.0.0.1.
Thank you for the suggestion on checking for software blocking the data. I have gone through adding outbound and inbound exceptions in Vista for Scrapebox.exe, and exclusions in Avast for the entire Scrapebox folder. Do not know how to add exceptions in the Windows Firewall for other extensions than .exe, like the .sil, .ini, and .sb extensions for the Social Checker addon.

Other then adding exceptions you could try to uninstall Avast, it hates scrapebox. However did adding the rules help? You could also try to restart in safe mode with networking.
No security software launches by default, 3rd party anyway, when you start in safe mode. Just make sure you internet works and then try it. If it works, you know its software on your pc, if it doesn't you could try disabling the router in your firewall and whitelisting scrapebox in your router. Although even if it still does not work in safe mode, it could still be software on your pc, but its less likely.
