How Should We Be Link Building If at All - JohnnyDebt - 02-20-2014

In the good old days, back links were king. Since then a lot of changes have taken place and I am under the impression that almost any back link could be detrimental to a site. Am I correct in this line of thinking?

If so, how should we be using scrapebox, to optimise our sites?

Good question! I'm pure white hat and have just realised that scrapebox can hopefully help. I have to say that it's not the most user friendly or intuitive piece of software. All the tutorials seem to assume everyone has some understanding of footprints!!

Not all tutorials assume someone knows about footprints, for example, here is a video I did this year that shows you how to build footprints, explains what they are etc.. Also in its description I link to an older video where I do the same thing but in different light.

Also whitehat is subjective, if you acquire 1 single link, then you are black hat, as Google clearly says that building any links at all to influence search engine rankings is a violation of their TOS.

White hat is a figment of the imagination of those that really do black hat but want to not be associated with the crowd that does really shady blackhat stuff. IMHO anyway.

To the OP, if you build no links, you basically have no rank unless you are the only one in your niche and you have exact match on page to the keyword being searched. I would go so far as to say "most" links are not detrimental, but in reality we just hear more about the bad ones, so thats what we focus on. There is a psychology to that actually, I forget what its called, but basically if you hear about something with "force" or impact, meaning its intense/severe etc.. then you will view that item as larger and more impactful then it really is to the grand scheme of things.

Casinos actually use this. When you win they give you loads of bells and lights. When you lose nothing happens. So your brain will view the intense lights and bells as a larger "image" if you will and will skew the real odds to believe that you will actually win more often then you really will. Same thing happens in SEO. You hear so much about "bad" links that everyone thinks they are everywhere, when in fact they are a minority of the links you can build.

Consider SB as a swiss army knife mate! It has numerous amount of tools you can use with it that even advanced users don't know all of its actual potential 100% !

In regards to link building , you can use it as tier 3 linkjuice with blog commenting and trackbacks! Point to your wikis, your bookmarks etc.. It works like a charm!

You need to index an amount of backlinks ? You can use rapid indexer !

You want to Ping particular URLs , you can use the Ping mode instead of post.

RSS Feed submission to Feed services ? No problem, there is an option for this too!

Obviously scrape. Literally everything. The possibilities are endless! I find old deleted high pr domains to buy, high pr blogs to post, spy on competition, scrape lists to use for posting with other tools, you name it ! It is the backbone of my work!

You can check page rank, alexa ranking , check website's backlinks, authority, check broken links, scrape images, link alive check, ohh man.. the list goes on and on, visit the tutorials and make sure you have a lot of time in your hands cause this is Pandoras Box !

Best Regards,
Dio
